Details

This collection of reflections is an attempt to address what it means to be a disciple by seeking to put Christ first in our life in order to increase our reliance upon Him. This book is not intended to be a quick-read-feel-good book. Rather, it is intended to help us examine our lives and in turn, live in accordance with what Christ taught about giving Him our total life and truly following Him.

Religious expression can be a subtle and deceptive departure from authentic discipleship. It has its roots in a limited, self-serving understanding of what total commitment to Christ truly means. Our daily walk with God is paramount to true spirituality. This walk must touch every part of our response to life—our attitudes, motives, our choices and actions.

Religious practice of morality and good works must be the end product of following Christ. The real danger is not embracing the cost and demands that come through true discipleship.

The key is to allow God's Spirit to speak through Scripture, personal study, prayer and meditation. Seeking and desiring the presence of God will motivate and reveal true discipleship that is an awesome daily experience.
